Does anyone else hate those stupid Vista ads?

You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones on Yahoo!, for starters. The actual ad is somewhere else on the page, but at the right of the page, directly over the story you want to read, a stupid translucent ad for Windows Vista plays, and closing it doesn't always work right.

I don't want to have to click to close an ad that is OVER THE STORY I WANT TO READ. I just want to read the damn article.

If there have to be ads, don't cover up the main topic of the page. Be out of the way. Don't interfere with the information, or I am going to go elsewhere.

What do you think about this new trend in ads?

Part of the problem is that they keep adding new ad servers.

I have the following in my /etc/hosts and it seems to do okay with blocking Yahoo! ads:

127.0.0.1 us.ard.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 us.a2.yimg.com
127.0.0.1 ads.yimg.com

I just added the last one this morning, as some ads started "getting through" again.

I can usually just tune out the ads, but like I said, I have to close these to get to what I want. And that sucks. Perhaps i will begin blocking, too...
